春爛漫の3月26日(木)、東京のトロピカル・ミュージックにおける超弩級のダブルレコ発を開催。 2月にリリースした現編成での初の7インチ「ワイハ節 / 黒石よされ節」が発売数週間で初回プレス残少。初見、一見をすべからく魅了し虜にしていく南部民謡の歌い手・竹ノ子みどりの唄と、それぞれが別のバンドでも大きな存在感を放って活動する3人によるレゲエ、ファンク、ラテン、アフロビートを呑み込んだトロピカル民謡サウンドで現在、大きな注目を集めるHI★STEADY meets 竹ノ子みどり。 このライブの前日である3/25(水)に最新7インチ「Fishcake and Fortune / Here Comes Andi」をリリース。5/20には総勢14名のゲストを迎えて制作された待望のフルアルバムのリリースも決定しているカテゴリー不能な無国籍トロピカル・モンドミュージック・バンド、of Tropique (=オブトロピーク)。 都内でも耳の早い粋な音楽好きの間では人気も注目度も急上昇中の両者を、一度に味わうことのできる最高の舞台でもあります。 ライブとクラブを近づけてくれるDJには、TARO-NSMR、RWOOD、SHOCHANGの3名が登場。年代も活動する現場もそれぞれ違う３者だが、共通するのはクラブ・カルチャーが骨の髄まで浸透しているということ。良いDJと良いライブが組み合わさると、体験したことのない恍惚な空気が醸成されるということを証明してくれるはず。 お腹が空いていたら踊れないし酒も進まないという人には僥倖。三軒茶屋のクラブなどを中心に出店し、無類のカレー好きも多いであろう様々なクラバーたちに舌鼓を打たせ続けるMAW CURRYがフードとして参加。ぜひ味覚からも良い夜を堪能してほしい。 とある東京の1日ではあるけれど、されど特別な東京の1日になるはずなので、今からでも予定を調整して奮って遊びに来てほしい。 ********************** On Thursday, March 26th, amidst the full bloom of spring, we held a super-sized double record release event for Tokyo's tropical music scene. The first 7-inch released by the current lineup, “Waiha Bushi / Kuroishi Yosare Bushi,” released in February, saw its initial pressing nearly sold out within weeks. “HI★STEADY meets Midori Takenoko”, who captivates audiences with the enchanting folk songs of southern Japan traditional song performed by singer Midori Takenoko, alongside the tropical sound of three musicians—each making significant waves in their own bands—who blend reggae, funk, Latin, and Afrobeat. The day before this live show, on Wednesday, March 25th, they released their latest 7-inch single, “Fishcake and Fortune / Here Comes Andi.” On May 20th, the long-awaited full album, created with a total of 14 guests, is also set for release. This is the unclassifiable, stateless tropical world music band “of Tropique”. This is the ultimate stage to experience both acts simultaneously, whose popularity and buzz are rapidly rising among Tokyo's discerning, early-adopting music fans. Bringing live and club closer together are DJs TARO-NSMR, RWOOD, and SHOCHANG. Though each hails from a different era and scene, they share a Club culture ingrained in their very core.
