ダブ、ハウス、ジャングルからアンビエント、沖縄民謡までを節操なく縦横無尽に繋ぎ、独自の風景で聴いてる人間の脳天を焦がすオクマチナツ。スムースでいてとにかく心地良いレゲエ・ナンバーをシームレスに紡いでいき、全身をまどろませたかと思いきや、霧に中からサイケデリックな様相が見え隠れするかのごとく、クンビアやチーチャを織り交ぜてくれるのがRWOODで、ダンスホール・レゲエ、ラバーズロック、そしてロックステディのマナーを根っこに持ちながらも、独特のセンスでアフロビーツやアマピアノ、3Step、シャッタなどを、まるでメリーゴーランドのようにめくるめく展開させていくYotch。 世界的には市民権を得て、日々進化しているアフロビーツやアマピアノだが、都内ではまだまだフロアで定着しているとは言い難いため、この夜はなかなか貴重な夜になることだろう。ぜひ踊りに来て欲しい。 *************** Held once every two months at Cafein in Asagaya, “TOY MOTION” is a DJ party that resonates through the venue. This April’s lineup features DJs known for their hard-hitting sounds. Chinatsu Okuma, who seamlessly blends everything from dub, house, and jungle to ambient and Okinawan folk music without restraint, scorching the minds of listeners with her unique soundscapes. RWOOD seamlessly weaves together smooth, utterly soothing reggae tracks that lull your entire body into a daze—only to suddenly interweave cumbia and chicha, as if psychedelic visions were flickering through the mist. Rooted in the traditions of dancehall reggae, Lovers Rock, and Rocksteady, Yotch uses his unique sensibility to weave Afrobeat, Amapiano, 3-Step, and Shutta into a dizzying, merry-go-round-like sequence. While Afrobeat and Amapiano have gained global recognition and continue to evolve daily, they haven’t quite taken root on the dance floors of Tokyo yet, so this night promises to be a rare treat.
