Alongside artists based in Kansai, we’ll also be welcoming Tokyo-based artist Hybrid Leisureland aka Hidetoshi Koizumi, who has been active in Japan and abroad — particularly across Europe — with his delicate blend of electronica and ambient music. Together, they will create a moment where ambient/electronica and coffee gently intertwine. Once again, Osaka Tenmangu’s self-roasted coffee stand, NOWA coffee roastery, will be serving the special HOWRING Blend — crafted to accompany slow listening on rainy days. Joining us this time as our sweets partner is 折々喫茶 kissa koenomori, a traveling café without a permanent storefront. They’ll be offering baked treats to enjoy alongside the coffee and music. The atmosphere of a rain-soaked city and softly resonating electronic sounds — we hope this will be a moment where both mind and body can slowly unwind. Please feel free to stop by. We look forward to seeing you there . - Hybrid Leisuireland aka Hidetoshi Koizumi (Sonar Library Records | Tokyo) A solo project by Hidetoshi Koizumi, an electronica and ambient composer/arranger active in both France and Japan. Born in Saitama in 1974, he returned to Japan after spending time working in France. Inspired by the limitless possibilities of music created from all kinds of sounds — including human voices and car engine noises — he began composing music. In 2010, he signed with the French label Ultimae Records and performed under the name Hybrid Leisureland until 2020. In 2021, in pursuit of a more personal and authentic form of expression, he began performing under his real name. In addition to live performances in France, Hungary, Germany, and Japan, he has also provided music for fashion brands, films, commercials, projection mapping projects, and video games. Blending evocative soundscapes with contrasting atmospheres, he creates an electronica and ambient world that is at once delicate and airy, yet deep and sharply textured. Drawing inspiration from fleeting everyday scenes and the subtle movements of people, he strives to express these impressions through simple sounds, always hoping that his music becomes a part of the many different moments in the lives of those who listen.
