HARD TECHNO 'CRACKS' with Messiahwaits(MHz, Berlin), FENGX2

On May 30, Berlin-based DJ and producer Messiahwaits, founder of the MHz label, returns to Osaka for a special edition of CRACKS at BLVCK WATER. Known for its uncompromising, high-impact approach to techno, Osaka-based party CRACKS continues to push forward a sharp and evolving vision of dance music. The series has hosted a wide range of domestic and international artists, including ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U, Lorenzo Raganzini and Kobosil, guiding dancers through intense, forward-facing electronic journeys. Messiahwaits (MHz, Berlin) Born in South Korea and now based in Berlin, Messiahwaits is a DJ and producer who prefers to let his records speak for themselves. Rather than relying on words, his sound tells the story—through finely sculpted snares, hi-hats and kick drums that carry both precision and emotion. Rejecting strict genre boundaries with a “genres are meaningless” attitude, he describes his sets as hyper-new rave: a seamless blend of hard techno, hard house, industrial, groove, schranz, psychedelic trance, dub, acid and classic trance, typically driven at 150–160 BPM. Refusing monotony, he delivers sets that move like an emotional rollercoaster. He has appeared consecutively at Amelie Lens’ EXHALE Berlin 24HRS events in 2022 and 2023, and has also performed a closing set at the legendary Tresor. FENGX2 (CRACKS / UNDER / BLVCK WATER) FENGX2’s musical journey began before he could even speak, attending outdoor raves with his raver parents and absorbing psychedelic experiences from an early age. Later, solo travels led him to discover techno as a borderless form of expression, launching his career as a DJ and promoter at the age of 18. His sound is rooted in street-driven schranz and industrial techno, fused with elements of metal, groove and trance. Based in Osaka, he has performed across Japan and internationally. From 2022, he served as a resident at CLUB UNDER, playing a key role in driving Osaka’s hard techno scene until its closure. He is now a founding member of BLVCK WATER, a club dedicated to pushing techno culture forward.
