Brooklyn is the epicenter of the underground. House of Yes in Bushwick throws the city's most inventive themed parties. Avant Gardner and its sub-venue Brooklyn Mirage host festival-scale outdoor events in summer. Output, though closed, defined an era — and the venues that replaced it (Nowadays, Bossa Nova Civic Club) continue Brooklyn's commitment to serious dance music.
