[BBCB MK4: FINAL WEEK]

A message from BBCB As we approach the 10th anniversary of BBCB, there is something we wanted to share with you directly. This past mid-May marked two full years since we signed the contract for our current space. Over the past two years, this place has become a dense and meaningful space built together under the name BBCB - through countless nights, music, artists, audiences, staff members, and friends. This was the fourth space of BBCB. Maybe because I have always had a bit of a restless, nomadic nature, BBCB has moved every two to three years, each time taking on a new form. When we first signed this space, the fourth version of BBCB was imagined as a place where club culture in Korea could show and create more diverse possibilities. We wanted it to be more than just a nightlife venue - a place where different cultures could bloom, meet, and exchange. A space where bigger events could happen, and where more experiments and encounters could grow around music. But as we continued operating, we also came to realize that the strong identity and weight of the BBCB name may have limited some of the wider possibilities this space could hold. After considering various operational conditions and the direction we want to move toward, it has become difficult for us to continue using the current space under the name BBCB. So this week will be the final week that we operate this space under the name BBCB. But this does not mean the end of BBCB. From June, this space will transition into a new name: Blank Site. Blank Site is not a replacement for BBCB. It is an open space created to hold more diverse possibilities. Moving forward, this space will operate as a place for various genres of events, performances, venue rentals, pop-ups, brand collaborations, exhibitions, shoots, F&B projects, and other forms of experimentation. By temporarily separating the unique identity and weight of the BBCB name from this physical space, we hope to open the venue to a wider range of uses and possibilities. If you are interested in using the space or creating something together, please feel free to reach out. Even after the transition to Blank Site, BBCB events will continue. It may no longer operate as a weekly club in the same way as before, but we plan to hold BBCB events once or twice a month in a more focused way. The sound, attitude, and direction toward underground music that BBCB has carried will continue. Please think of this not as a stop, but as a transition. And one day, we hope to create the next BBCB space - MK5 - something even more intimate, like a true hideout. In the meantime, through Blank Site, we hope to create many of the musical experiments and projects that we were not able to fully realize under the name BBCB in this current space. This week will be the final week of operating this space under the name BBCB, but BBCB is not ending, so please don’t be too sad. If you have time, we would love for you to come by this week. And even if we may not see each other as often as before, we will make sure to meet again under the name BBCB at least once a month.
