oksional First Thursdays: Femmelectric

Nice people and good dance music, every first Thursday at Mothership. We feature talented local DJs who you normally only see humbly supporting headliners or in stacked weeknight lineups—letting them share their unique sound on the dance floor. This month, we're featuring femmelectric, bringing her signature latin-tinged style to the floor. Femmelectric is a born again San Franciscan with an extensive rave resume dating back to the early 90s in Orlando, Florida, where Miami bass, breaks, electro, UK hardcore, and piano house dominated the sound waves. A lived history of this golden era of dance music coupled with two decades of euphoric dance floor experiences, a passion for devouring new sounds, and personal evolution eventually led to the rise of a DJ. Since 2017, femmelectric has been exploring sonic storytelling through eclectic and immersive sets at major clubs, underground events, festivals, and abroad. She’s held residencies in nightclubs and radio, and has been an activist for inclusive representation in dance music. Resident Justyn Myers on the warmup. Come dance with us!
