Biz (Transmat / SUBJEKT)

Biz is one of Australia's pioneer techno djs and has been a key player in the country’s electronic music since the late eighties. Watching his creative flair on the decks is a joy to behold and his sets are always an emotional journey, moving effortlessly from deep, driving bass lines to rich, soulful melodies, seamlessly bridging the past and future of electronic music. He has had the chance to work with some of the world's greats and has supported the likes of Jeff Mills, Aphex Twin, Sven Vath, and many more. As a producer he had done releases on labels such as Detroit’s Transmat, Laurent Garnier’s label COD3QR, Christian Smith’s label Tronic, Colin Dale’s Abstrakt Dance, English labels Further Electronix, We’re going Deep, Exalt, and Berlin’s Get Physical. His music has been in the record boxes of legends such as Darren Emerson, Billy Nasty, Laurent Garnier, Goldie, Derrick May, Colin Dale, Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, and Extrawelt. His contribution to the Australian techno scene has been invaluable. He has run three import record stores over the last three decades and compiled releases for labels such as Force inc and Detroit's Submerge. He promoted the legendary Flash parties, Events that introduced Sydney to the pioneering artists of Detroit. He also ran Chinese Laundry’s club night Tech-ni-kal for three years which was one of the southern hemisphere’s leading techno clubs. To this day he very much still lives and breathes the spirit of techno culture.
