Sound only

Many producers and DJs describe techno as having “energy.” But where does this “energy” originate? Where does it come from? DJ/producer Takashi Iida a.k.a. Ozwald Alexander launched his techno party from this very question. The party is based on the hypothesis that this “energy” arises precisely from self-absorption and self-affirmation. To allow DJs, producers, and the audience to immerse themselves, the venue is blacked out, and the dress code is strictly all black. Furthermore, to enable everyone to focus solely on their own sound, the use of mobile devices within the venue is prohibited. There are none of the flashy productions typical of modern parties; it is the most primitive party. That is “Sound only.”
