Influenced by southwest Detroit's Latin rhythms, Rolando — formerly of Underground Resistance — purveys a shade of techno that is just as percussive and celebratory as it is deep and driving. Julia Govor's adaptability in precise, immersive, and dextrous techno remains the hallmark of our Friday nights. Ilian-Tape-affiliate Stenny makes his PR debut. Fearless in his approach, '90s techno and IDM; jungle-esque drum programming; and dusty, dense atmospheres fall somewhere between classic and forward-thinking club. Brooklyn's kō-an takes a similar approach, chasing the hypnotic and mesmerizing potential of electronic sound.
