Fridays @ Refuge ~Before. During. Afters~ Drift into a hypnotic trip at Refuge NYC on April 10th, where each artist carves their own path through the system. The Lady Machine brings her signature blend of precision and force, while Juana channels deep, hypnotic energy with a raw edge. Cotton leans into textured, evolving selections that stretch time and space, while Sploofi carves out a more off-center, kinetic energy that keeps the room on its toes. Powered by the REX sound system, expect a continuous surge from start to finish—no filler, just pure transmission. The Lady Machine is a Berlin-based force forging a sound built on intricate rhythms, dark synth work, and razor-sharp control. Originally from Rio de Janeiro, the longtime vinyl specialist has over two decades behind the decks. She channels a fierce, detail-driven approach into every set—balancing power with precision. As a resident at Pornceptual and co-founder of Unterwegs, The Lady Machine stands at the intersection of raw underground energy and refined, modern techno craft. DC based, Juana is a seasoned selector with roots in Chicago’s underground and decades behind the decks, shaping rooms from early internet radio days to global institutions like Berghain, Fabric, and Basement. Her sound channels the raw spirit of acid, house, and straight-ahead techno into something deep, driving, and emotionally charged. Now a resident at Merge and a core force within NOXEEMA JACKSON, she continues to evolve as both DJ and producer, with recent releases and more always in motion. Cotton is a Brooklyn native who has risen from the underground to commanding larger floors while remaining deeply rooted in the culture that shaped her. For over a decade, she has kept the scene alive through the curation of Renegade events around the world. Dedicated to preserving and advancing the legacy of North American techno, Cotton educates the next generation on the genre’s iconic history while seemlessly blending it with the contemporary sounds driving today’s dance floors. She is the sound of Brooklyn. Sploofi crafts a sound shaped from within—self-taught, instinctive, and sharply defined. Her sets fuse shadowy tones with layered atmospheres, balancing raw edge and refined detail. With her debut EP Unhatched on Newrythmic Records and more on the horizon, she also operates as one half of A Dedicated Balance, pushing hypnotic, cinematic techno while curating their ADB residency at Bossa Nova Civic Club.Leave your sense of time at the door—this one runs on its own clock. Refuge Hi-Def Dance Club is a 500-cap underground nightclub in East Williamsburg built around sound, energy, and atmosphere. At its core is REX, a custom 4-point system designed by co-founder Craig “Shorty” Bernabeu, with four 10-foot stacks surrounding the dance floor for a powerful, immersive experience. Each night is curated to push that system to its full potential — a true Musical Arts Performance in every sense. 21+ only. All sales are final.
