LISTENING SESSION: After Eden with J. Mordechai

An open-format live-performance hosted by J. Mordechai and his After Eden label mates on the last Friday of each month. Exploring a wide range of sounds including ambient, dub, downtempo, and electroacoustic music, J. Mordechai will invite additional performers to improvise with him, creating an entirely bespoke experience for each edition. J. Mordechai is a Brooklyn-based producer and DJ working at the intersection of electronic music, ambient, and sonic theory. In 2024, he co-produced Emophilia by Nazareth Hassan and in 2025, Aisle Knot’s self-titled debut. His work includes official remixes for Altopalo, Pecas, Nathan Dies, and Talk Bazaar. As an instrumentalist, he has supported live performances by keiyaA, Beshken, Crosslegged, STEFA*, William Alexander, Fast Preacher, and Slumberjack (FL). His compositional work spans film, dance, and performance, with original scores for projects by Katherine Maxwell, Olivia Burgess, Troy Vetri & David Dominguez, and Olivia De Camps, alongside collaborations with choreographers Evan Sagadencky, Liana Zhen-ai, Max Stone, Alice Pan, Lane Gifford, Robert Rubama, Faustine Levie, and Jonathan Colafrancesco.
