Community Rave Network is back March 20 with the first of our quarterly 2026 parties at The Avalon Lounge in Catskill. Wiggle worm it into the void in the downstairs room, where CRN resident Scotia will be joined all night by LA-4A. Tying the night together, the Capital Region’s djdrummernk will return to the upstairs lounge for a night of live electronics and deep listening. The LA-4A project of Kevin McHugh has been a quiet success story since its inception in 2013. His is a monolithic and immediately identifiable breed of “roots techno”, with regular fans including Ben UFO, Bicep, Helena Hauff, Optimo, Volvox, Erol Alkan, Nina Kraviz, Mike Servito, Josh Wink, Joy Orbison, The Blessed Madonna, Martyn, and others. His own label Delft’s progress and history were outlined in a special feature on BBC Radio 1, and his DJ sets have gained renown from years of regular appearances at Berghain, Concrete, The Bunker NYC, Dommune Tokyo, Smartbar Chicago, Roman Flugel’s Sister Midnight parties and many more. djdrummernk is a lynchpin of the Capital Region experimental and improvisational electronics scene. With a background in jazz, electronic, experimental noise, and musical theater, he has shared bills with an uncommonly diverse collection of artists – from Mobb Deep to the New York City Ballet. His live hardware sets stretch beyond the electronic into acoustic instruments,and invite deep listening and reflection.
