abunDANCE - global sounds, heavy bass

Come join us for the first iteration of abunDANCE, an exploration of global sounds with a focus on underground and ground shaking music co-hosted with DAYTIMERS NYC Expect a heavy focus on Global South bass-centered music—where tabla rhythms meet sub-heavy synths, and traditional melodies are reimagined through the lens of modern club culture. From UK Bhangra-inflected rollers to global club sounds and experimental bass, the mission is simple: stank face that reminds you of a simpler time/place. The power of the dancefloor is a site of mutual support and community. This year, we will be collecting donations to support DRUM (Desis Rising Up and Moving) NYC in their mission to help "low-income, South Asian and Indo-Caribbean immigrants to lead social and policy change that impacts their own lives".
