Calussa present NUSONIDO in New York, bringing their Miami-based label and event series to REFUGE for a daytime-to-evening session that reflects their curatorial direction and musical identity. The concept has quickly developed momentum through a focus on artist-led programming and a sound rooted in Afro-influenced house and global club rhythms. Its Miami Music Week edition reached capacity, hosting names like Mason Collective and AJ Christou, and now arrives in Brooklyn with an expanded lineup that pairs international acts with local selectors. At the center of the project are Calussa, the duo of Andrew and Gino, whose productions have consistently charted on Beatport while appearing on labels such as Defected, Higher Ground, Armada, Get Physical, and Saved Records. Their output spans club-focused tracks and crossover collaborations, including work with Carlita and Nic Fanciulli, and continues to receive support from artists including Black Coffee, Dennis Cruz, and Vintage Culture. Their sets reflect the same direction—rhythm-forward, percussive, and built for long-form dancefloor movement. The lineup also features Marian, an artist from Florianopolis whose rise has been driven by DJ support across the global circuit. His unreleased material has circulated through sets by Jamie Jones, The Martinez Brothers, and Classmatic, while official releases have landed on labels like Organic Pieces and Dogghäuz. His sound draws from classic house structures while emphasizing groove and sampling detail. Rounding out the bill are Malcolm Zeller, Matt Martinez, MITTA, and TMP0007, representing the local scene and adding depth to the day’s programming. NUSONIDO in New York introduces the label’s next phase while maintaining its focus on curated lineups and club-driven energy.
