Saturday, May 2nd, Xena Transcription presents an evening of experimental electronics celebrating the sensual immediacy of abstract sound design and live video. This is a seated event with performances in the round, on a rug-covered floor, with a custom analog system for subtle sound manipulation. Xena Transcription 001 takes place in a beautiful Brooklyn loft that will provide the container for a 4-hour window of intricately textured soundscapes. C. Lavender (Editions Mego, iDeal) 3G DJ MFA* Live multi-channel volumetric video projection by Yiyang Cao Interdisciplinary sound artist, sound healing practitioner, and educator C. Lavender (Lavender Suarez) will present work that showcases her encompassing mastery of sound and space. She is the author of "Transcendent Waves: How Listening Shapes Our Creative Lives," a contemplative artist’s workbook that explores how listening can spark creativity, foster self-awareness, and cultivate mindfulness. 3G is a collaboration between NYC artists Threehz and Serpent In A Straight Line. The duo uses traditional DJ equipment, granular synthesis, and real-time manipulation of fixed recordings to create waves, pulses, and floating clouds of synthetic noise layered over broken and dysfunctional rhythmic content. DJ MFA* is the alias of multi-media artist Daniel Tepper, who will present an all-vinyl session, exploring the broad and bass-heavy depths of downtempo. Yiyang Cao is a new media artist based in Brooklyn. She utilizes a wide range of technologies in her work including, analog video synthesis, computer-based generative visuals, 3D animation, and projection mapping. Saturday, May 2nd, 8pm-12am Secret Brooklyn Loft Location will be sent to ticketholders on the day of the performance
