Long Play Festival makes a foray into club programming, with Mike Parker headlining The Sound Room. The DJ, producer, and vaunted veteran of the underground relies on rich textures and hypnotic grooves to maximize his fresh and unique take on minimalism. Xenia Reaper performs live. Their atmospheric, layered mutant IDM and bass-heavy sound design has been published on INDEX:Records and Delsin Records. Muein’s avant-garde selections are cut from the same cloth. Nadia Struiwigh’s style of techno is unmistakable. Working primarily with hardware, her emotionally-urgent, hypnotic techno leans into psychedelic, rolling and percussive intensity. Brooklyn’s Mz3 [fka Mzzz Adele] weaves together the dancefloor-driven intensity of sound system culture with unexpected emotional twists. UPSTAIRS, Berlin’s Gaby D’Annunzio brings a decade of collecting dub-centered hip-hop and jazz to the listening lounge. - Public Records aims to provide a safer space.
