Jesse S AKA Jesse Sandwich makes his Los Angeles debut alongside local vinyl purveyor and party organizer DJ Duckcomb at Apotheke. As label head of AREAMAN CHICAGO he focuses on expanding Chicago's creative reach by pressing music on limited run vinyl releases. Expect the finest in deep house, disco, boogie and global grooves at DTLA’s swankiest and funkiest cocktail bar and dancefloor. "Artist, musician, and experimental collaborator Jesse Sandvik (Jesse Sandwich) has been promoting quality in musical community for over 20 years in Chicago. As a resident DJ and curator at some of Chicago's more well known music establishments (Danny's, Berlin, Whistler, Sportsman's Club, Estereo and currently The California Clipper) he began his career focusing on sonic atmospheres, auditory visions, and mood spaces. Variety of sound is essential, and unknown or under-appreciated music from Chicago and around the world is a particular focus. As the current music supervisor and DJ booking manager at the California Clipper his focus is on uplifting local artists with a historic platform in Humboldt Park. The most important part of a dance party is always the people there who choose to actively release themselves and participate in it.” “Patrick Billard, better known as DJ Duckcomb, is a Los Angeles based DJ, record collector and record label honcho known for his disco edits and eclectic vinyl sets seamlessly weaving from disco, house, Italo, new wave, reggae and beyond. Patrick cut his teeth in New York City from 2000 to 2016 as half of dynamic duo Sharegroove, with partner Steve Shakewell, featuring residencies at Good Room, Black Flamingo and many other now defunct venues. Upon moving to Los Angeles in 2016, Duckcomb became a regular at the legendary Heatwave parties with Daniel T and Wyatt Potts, eventually connecting with LA disco don Dino Soccio, playing his Pleasure of Love party and releasing a storming set of now classic disco edits with Daniel T on the Pleasure of Love label. Duckcomb now runs Pleasure of Love with Dino Soccio and together they have launched New Islands, a reissue imprint whose first release, Kim Yaffa’s “Once Bitten”, is flying off the shelves and earning it’s status as a lost balearic masterpiece. Their second release, Venus II "Oh Boy" was released in Fall of 2025 and is finding its way to dancefloor around the globe. Duckcomb has also been behind reissues and re-edits of rare reggae and lovers rock tunes on labels such as Cultures of Soul and Emotional Rescue and has released his own edit 12”s on labels like Universal Cave, Mister T and Everything You Are About To Hear Is True.
