From the heart of Tokyo’s underground scene, SAKO has been bridging the gap between drum & bass, techno, house, and trance for years. As the founder of the collective and label Beginning Tokyo, he’s not just a DJ but a core promoter and organizer shaping the city’s nightlife. Whether he’s dropping rolling DnB or deep 4x4 grooves, SAKO’s sets reflect a deep knowledge of dancefloor energy and a relentless passion for sharing sounds. His journey has taken him to some major stages. In 2018, he represented Tokyo at the prestigious Liquicity Festival in the Netherlands, a milestone for any drum & bass DJ. More recently, he stepped onto the massive main stage of ULTRA JAPAN in 2024—and is already lined up for the 2025 edition. Add in a slot at WDJFJP 2025, and it’s clear SAKO is a steady presence in both the international and domestic festival circuit. Hailing originally from Hiroshima and now deeply embedded in Tokyo, SAKO brings a grounded, hardworking ethos to every set and event. Still riding the wave of a promoter’s life, he’s open to booking requests and always on the hunt for the next vibe. Expect rhythm, variety, and a genuine love for the music—no matter the genre.
