On June 12, we’re inviting you to a special evening dedicated to deep listening, vinyl culture and Chinese tea This session will be guided musically by Kristian Kaltenbach — a Berlin-based DJ, selector and vinyl enthusiast with more than 30 years of experience. Originally from Dresden and living in Berlin for over two decades, Kristian is known for his carefully curated listening sets and deep passion for records. For him, listening sessions are a unique opportunity to experience music with greater attention, presence and connection. For this evening, Kristian has selected Beach of the Pliocene — a beautiful double LP compilation by Japanese ambient composer Ken-ichiro Isoda. Originally released as a collection of pieces from six albums recorded in 1990–1991, the compilation was later personally selected, edited and reconstructed by Isoda himself. The music moves through delicate ambient textures, spacious synthesizer landscapes and subtle melodic passages that evoke nature, memory and a sense of timelessness. Throughout the evening, Kristian will guide us through this immersive listening journey while we serve a curated selection of Chinese teas chosen specifically to accompany the music. The evening is designed as a slower and more intentional experience — an opportunity to step away from distractions, discover new sounds, explore tea culture and share a meaningful moment with others.
