Nazar stands at the forefront of a new wave of African electronic music, translating the raw intensity of Angolan sound system culture into deeply physical, globally resonant experiences. Rooted in the sonic language of Kuduro and shaped by diasporic narratives, his work bridges memory, rhythm, and movement while bringing the spirit of Luanda into dialogue with dance floors worldwide. At the heart of Kuduro’s dance culture lies the "roda": a circle where dancers step forward to challenge, exchange, and express. Each movement is a statement, each response a negotiation of rhythm and identity. Surrounded by community, the energy builds collectively, driven by the pulse of the batida. By following up with his 2025's release "Demilitirize" on Hyperdub records, Nazar teams up with Y-3 for a new endeavour when directing and producing "RODA", a visual journey about his very own sound and movement practice. This tradition is going to be transported from Luanda to Berlin. Three Angolan dancers will create that circle while three distinct artists will deliver a relentless sonic backdrop of pounding drums and sub-heavy pressure for people to witness, participate and contribute.
