doors: 19:00 Start 20:00 Yasha 96 (Indie Pop, Post Punk, Indie Rock) Yasha 96 is an indie pop project by Jáchym Kovář, currently based in Berlin. Drawing inspiration from the evocative singer-songwriter sound of the 90s, the project blends nostalgic elements with a fresh and contemporary indie pop aesthetic, incorporating influences from post-punk and shoegaze. Often described as a hidden gem of the Czech alternative music scene, Yasha 96’s debut album The Boy Who Came Here From The Dust was named one of the best indie pop albums of 2021 by the radio show Reflector. His follow-up album FILIP is built around voice memos recorded by friends between 2021 and 2023, forming a narrative that explores themes of love, grief, self-doubt, and acceptance. The album was also recognized by Headliner Magazine as one of the top 100 Czech albums of the 21st century. Yasha was shortlisted for the Czech Music Academy Awards (Anděl) in the Best New Artist category in 2023. In 2026, he won the Best Music Video award at the Czech Music Academy Awards (Anděl), marking a significant milestone for the project. In addition, FILIP received two nominations at the Czech Music Critic Awards Apollo (Album of the Year and Single of the Year 2023). He has also been selected for Czeching 2025, an export-focused competition organized by Radio Wave, and recently released a new album titled E/DM. “The music of Yasha 96 is tender and danceable at the same time… songs that rise up and carry you away,” said Christoph Scharag from RBB Radio Fritz. The project has received support from playlists such as New Music Friday CZ/SK and Neon , as well as Czech radio stations Express and Radio 1, and Fenne Lily’s Apathy Hour podcast. Yasha 96 performs with a full band, delivering a rich and dynamic live experience that goes beyond the traditional solo singer-songwriter format. Their debut album Cosmic Background Radiation was released in October 2018 after the band’s five-year existence and five singles. Cosmic Background Radiation was produced by Dušan & Tomáš Neuwerth, the renowned Czech producers. The release of the album was also accompanied by the release of an apocalyptic-themed music video for their song Lazer Queen.
