The concert evening ‘Strings Entangled’ explores the augmentation of string instruments from various traditions through algorithmic interaction. In a solo performance, artist Echo Ho transforms the sonority of the traditional Guqin zither through her self-developed hybrid instrument, the Slow Qin, which bridges ancient musical culture with digital real-time processing and has been undergoing continuous development for over a decade. Subsequently, musician Hyunjeong Park (Gayageum) and artist Leon Eckard (electric guitar, SuperCollider) present a duo performance in which their string instruments are coupled via custom algorithms to form an interactive system, allowing the performers to continuously influence one another on both acoustic and digital levels. Strings Entangled is kindly supported by initiative neue musik berlin e.V. Donation: 10-15 Euro
