W Osaka’s signature monthly night, WEEKEND BLACKBOX SESSION, returns with a seasonal shift—Spring Awakening Edition. As the city begins to thaw and energy rises, the blackbox transforms into a space of renewal and momentum. This edition captures that transition: soft yet powerful, fluid yet driving—where sound blooms, tension builds, and the dancefloor moves as one continuous wave. At the center of the night are three artists—YUUKI YOSHIYAMA, DMITRI ABSINTHE, and MAX PELA—each shaping the space through distinct perspectives and sonic identities. YUUKI YOSHIYAMA, W Osaka’s Music & Entertainment Director, brings home a sound refined on the world’s most iconic stages. With releases on labels such as Toolroom Records and performances at EDC, Tomorrowland (Belgium), Bootshaus (Germany), and Amsterdam Dance Event, his global trajectory continues to expand. In March this year, he is also set to appear at Tomorrowland Winter 2026 (France) as the only Japanese artist on the lineup—further cementing his presence on the world stage. His sound moves between precision and emotion, forming a core axis of the night. DMITRI ABSINTHE, originally from Russia and now based in Osaka, brings a deeply cultivated musical perspective shaped by years in Tel Aviv’s underground scene. His sets move fluidly across deep and soulful house, disco, and hypnotic techno—balancing warmth with intensity, and guiding the floor with an intuitive, narrative-driven flow. MAX PELA, born in the Dominican Republic and now based in Japan, channels a globally rooted deep and afro house sound. With a career spanning over two decades, he has built his presence across Latin America, the US, and Asia, while developing his own platform “House of Pela.” His sets fuse organic rhythm with modern dancefloor energy, connecting heritage with forward momentum. Together, these three forces create a seamless flow of deep, driving house—where global influences converge into a singular, immersive experience. Set within the intimate “Living Room” at W Osaka, expect a carefully curated atmosphere—where light, texture, and rhythm merge into a fully immersive experience.
